P-p-pick up a Penguin for Comic Relief
This year I've decided to raise funds for Red Nose Day, but instead of doing something invariably unfunny for money, I am giving away some artwork instead:

Simply click on the link above and donate £5 (or more), and you will be entered into the draw to win one of my limited edition prints of a King Penguin (edition of 100).
Malaria, an entirely preventable illness, is the biggest killer in Africa. In 2010, an estimated 655,000 people worldwide died from malaria, and over 90% of these cases were in Africa. Approximately 86% of deaths globally were children.
I grew up in Kenya, but was in a privileged enough position to have access to a mosquito net and the relevant preventative drugs when in an at risk area. A simple luxury that is not available to a staggering number of people living in abject poverty in Kenya and across the rest of Africa. It only costs £5 for a mosquito net, which could very well be the difference between life and death for someone. Thank you for your donation.

I love that we can assign the value of a mosquito net to the donation. What a simple, yet meaningful, way to appeal for funds. I'll do my best to get the money in some denomination through the technical barriers!!
All the best,
Cathie Ledyard
